By A Customer very touching story from a mothers point of view. how God turned things around and brought a light into the life of a shattered family.a family questioning him, his goodness and his mercy. One can't even begin to imagen what this mother went through. you truly see the authors world through her words, from troubled teens to rosie new babies and finally to empty hotel rooms, depressing hospitals and into Gods glory! I also recommend a later work by the author "A CRY FOR JUSTICE" (out of print) How the Lord lead her to do something few of us can imagen (if i told you i would ruin it)

13 of 18 people found the following review helpful. Full of blatant lies and distortions By S. Williams Stephanie Swift was my best friend for several years during our early teen years. She was a bit of a wild child (and I hadn't caught up with her yet) so her mom used to ask me watch Steve and Greg sometimes, because Stephanie frequently refused to. Stephanie had a huge amount of anger over her parent's divorce (which was the result of her father impregnating their underaged babysitter). He was a police officer (Roeland Park, KS) at the time and quietly "resigned" from his position rather than face the possible repercussions of his actions. The babysitter's (Joy's) family then apparently consented to her marriage to him. He then moved south in MO to build docks in the Ozarks? I'm not quite sure about that. This babysitter, now "author", has taken such liberties with this family's history that I find it horribly offensive. Stephanie harbored bitter resentment towards her father and his wife. Greg and Steve only lived with them a short period of time, and that was after Stephanie became ill. The author doesn't even get Stephanie's diagnosis or cause of death correct. I was just sickened while reading this twisted account. The author would have you believe that this was one happy blended family when nothing could be further from the truth. She never gives credit to Jean (the bio mom) of three of the children lost to tragedy. I don't doubt the sincerity behind Ms. Swift's attempt to convey the grief and horror behind the senseless murders of four of these children. I resent her playing loosely with the facts that were the three original Swift children's fractured and often very difficult life stories. George rarely visited these children once he married his teenaged bride, nor did he support them financially the way that he was supposed to. They may have "found God" now, but there was nothing remotely resembling Christian virtue in who they were then. I just wish the author had told the truth. She doesn't have the right to alter another's legacy. The last time that I saw Stephanie, she was 15 and running away from home. She stopped by to see if I wanted to go with her. She was with her boyfriend and hitch hiking to Colorado (from Lenexa, KS). I opted to stay put and didn't get to speak with her again until after she had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. She was in the hospital and her mother was there with her. Not her father, not his wife. This book could almost be fiction. That having been said, I have compassion and sympathy for Jean, George and Joy. Their losses have been heartbreaking and no parent should have to endure that.
