These stories tend to gravitate toward themes of hedonism, self-discovery and creative abandon. A less explored but equally, if not more, common experience of this week-long event is finding oneself somewhat arbitrarily thrust into a group of relative strangers upon whom you are dependent for both social and survival reasons. For couples who attend together Burning Man is known as one of the grand tests of a relationship, like a trip around the world. With new relationships the strains can be even more dynamic.Meehan has captured one view of the complexities of these relationships. As someone who has attended a number of times, it felt familiar and authentic. The story unwinds effortlessly, touching on joy and intensity. I can recommend this short story for all who know the event, or wish to explore the flip side to the Utopian tales you may have heard.

In this memoir, Ms. Flannery unabashingly describe her experience with drugs, lust, and betrayal in a captivating progression of emotional rollercoaster. I could relate to the heart break yet because I am young: drugs, and sex is something I can't relate to. Yet, one need not experience it to understand Ms. Flannery story, in the same way we don't have to experience death to understand what it is. It is a relatively short book and inexpensive yet readable and rich in dramas. Thus money and time should not be your excuse in not reading this book.

Laughs, drugs, burning man, lesbian romance, hopeless but somehow inspiring hope. Was a great read.
