She's kind of just a vessel for them and she realizes sex with them makes her feel like crap more or less after all is said and By Francesca Harvey Most of the relationships in "I Would Do Anything For Love" are semi-sad and intangible, not necessarily strong or comforting. But that's what makes it so affecting and realistic. Cecily Scott, the book's main character, is close with her mom but mom is a low-key alcoholic. The guys Cecily interacts with are all variations on a theme. She's kind of just a vessel for them and she realizes sex with them makes her feel like crap more or less after all is said and done. Her relationship with her best friend becomes strained and by the end she basically just has herself but she owns that fact. By the end, you kind of know Cecily will go on to do amazing things, regardless of what befalls her.
