About the Author Jessica Lynne Bonczar Kenley was born in Buffalo, New York in the spring of 1981 to a teenage couple as one of a set of premature twin girls. She has had personal experience with sexual abuse, physical abuse, marriage, divorce, children, the death of children, activism, advocacy, being a part of social change, and living in poverty and homelessness, not to mention drug and alcohol addiction and recovery as well as the social stigma that follows. At the time of this writing, she has three small children and wishes to be a stay at home, albeit single, mom; therefore she has decided to write her experiences and share them with you as a means of supporting her small family of four (plus a few kitty cats). Her hopes and dreams are endless.

1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Interesting Read By Scot Reynolds I found the story entertaining. I shouldn't find a story about a mother that lost her children, to a genetic disease that affects infants world wide. However, this story was able to elicit all of the emotions, joy, sadness, anger, and discuss. The author, was able to portray emotions well with written descriptions. In addition, to bring out the best and worst with just words, and knowing what the ending actually was, relatively early in the story didn’t hinder my want to hear the rest of the story. It was able to keep my attention, and a surprise near the ending. It brings light, to much of the medical population not fully understanding the signs they use to diagnose. Much of the medical community is over worked, and only given minutes, to determine what is actually wrong with you, it’s understandable this happens all to often. given more time, to determine what the baby had, wouldn’t have changed the outcome due to genetics. However, it would have elevated much of the pain the child had endured through the finial days.I didn’t always agree with the behavior of the characters. However, you will have to read the story and decide for yourself. Not being in the situation, such as that I’m not sure where my mind would have been. However, the only truth about life in general, is that death will happen. As the humans have a 100% mortality rate. It’s just a matter of who joined you on your journey from life to death. Also, funerals are much like weddings, they are always important, to the people involved but hardly important, to many of the people we feel are our friends. The moral of the story could be a multitude of items, but my take away from the story is regardless of the hand your are dealt keep an open mind and there is no telling what will happen. After losing your first child, then a second the ending leaves it open for resilientes that may lead to exactly what she was looking for in the beginning.
