You know that feeling you get when you look down from some place really high up? You get dizzy, your heart sinks and a cold sweat coats your palms. Now, imagine trying to rest, only to end up waking up startled. Not from nightmares, but from memories. I am forced to relive my own murder again and again. Each time, I pray not to wake up. I survived, only to live in hell. One night, I was visiting a friend, when the police came barging in and throwing wild accusations. One in particular was being very verbally abusive, so I just wanted to escape. They would not let me leave the premises, so I asked to go out on the balcony for some fresh air. There I am. I can see myself as if I am a third party to this horrific event. I am shivering, scared, and just trying to collect my thoughts. Here he comes. I want to run, but I'm frozen in place. This is a dream, so I can't change anything, no matter how hard I try. He punches me in the face and throws me over the railing. I plunge seven stories and my body and life shatter like glass into a million tiny shards. The man who did this to me walks free, while I will never walk again. I try to tell people what I know happened, and the world calls me crazy. They assure me that I am just remembering things wrong. I wish it wasn't, but this story is absolutely true, and it is more terrifying than any novel I have read. Now, I am stuck in bed all day. I have no friends and I live in constant pain. With nothing to look forward to but more of the same.

Fascinating, Will haunt you By Lightbulb7Seven I was a afforded the privilege of reading 'The Things He Shattered' a few years ago and also gotten to know the author since that time. I was captivated and my husband and children were witness to the fact that I could not put it down. It will haunt you until you know what happens. Life is cruel, life is the surpriser of all. This young woman's account of her life and the major events that occur therein are fascinating to read and inspiring to consider. I am grateful to have come across this book and the author in this lifetime and I have never regretted it. She is an amazing woman whom will make you feel you are after only the introducing paragraph. This is well worth the read and any monetary donations to obtain it are going to a great cause. The Lord bless the author and her family.

By Heidi I am not normally a person who reads many autobiographies, this one however, captured my heart. I am in awe of the resounding strength this woman possesses. I am also angry at the fact that her life was so cruelly taken from her in an instant and the person who was responsible was not held accountable. It is perfectly written. I laughed. I cried. I felt anger. Her story touched my heart and left a mark on it that I will never be able to remove. Outstanding story sure to keep you reading to the very last page. I could not put it down!

Long and Rambling By Amazon Customer Some very interesting content is lost in all the mindless babbling. After hundreds of pages, I still do not fully understand the extent of this woman's injuries. A medical summary would help. Her basic claim that a cop tossed her over a balcony is never substantiated. I find it unlikely he would have done so in the presence of witnesses and without provocation.
