She finds the solitude better than dealing with the outside world and the troubles it seems to dump on her doorstep. That is until the day her childhood crushes come knocking. The thrill and love of life they offer has Lizzie hopeful. But she should have known by opening that door, the world would sneak in and try to take it all away from her—again. Grant and Richi have known since Lizzie was born that she would be a big part of their lives—just maybe not how big. When they find themselves in a position to save Lizzie from a threat, their hearts are threatened at the same time. Can they convince her that she needs them both? Or will circumstances from her past, take her out of their reach. Excerpt: "Goddamn, Grant. You lied. You said it was only you. I should have known." Now I'm even more conscious of what I'm wearing. "Did you really think I was going to let Grant come here without me? You must underestimate how much we both care about you," Richi says as he steps around me and walks in the house like he owns it. Arrg! "As you both can see, I'm fine. Now you can go. Don't let the door hit your asses on the way out." I may have just said the wrong thing at this moment. I'm not quite sure, you tell me. Richi stalks to me and lifts me off the floor. There I am, in this huge bear hug, my feet are at least two foot off the floor, and his face is mere inches from mine. I gulp. "Lizzie, I am not leaving here anytime soon. Deal with it. You have been cooped up in this fucking house for a year. Something has to give. You have people who care about you and you push them away. Well, we are pushing back now. I am pushing back. So get the fucking stick out of your ass and understand that we care what happens to you. We aren't going to let you drive us away and deal with all this shit on your own. You're strong, but not that strong. As you can see." He emphasizes with a tighter grip on my still dangling body. "I mean you are celebrating your birthday with who? Yourself? Don't push the only other people who love you away." He puts me down unceremoniously and walks to the front door, slamming it extremely loud on the way out. I wince and shiver at the same time. My body grows cold after he lets go but he's right, and I can't let my crazy body stop me from realizing I did push them away. But who wants overbearing men around when all you want to do is be alone? No one, that's who. All I can think of is chest pounding and the barking out of commands in order to make everything better. "Lizzie, don't worry about him, you know he'll be back. He…we just don't understand why you wouldn't let us help you through all this shit. That day made you a different person. One we don't particularly like. You feel guilty still, that's understandable, but it's not your fault. None of what happened that day was your fault. We know what that dipshit Kent did also. That's why you are putting all the blame on yourself. If you hadn't been with him, you would have been closer to your parents. Don't do that. We all know why you were with him. Were we happy? Not on your life. However, we didn't step in because shit just happens sometimes. But remember none of this was your fault. Now it's time to move on and start over. You have every opportunity to make a better life. Why not start now?" Even though he is absolutely right, I hate that he points it out. They did this to me all the time. That's why I don't want them around. They make me feel stupid for the way I think. I am far from incompetent. I just choose to be inapt at times. Maybe that is my problem. Something to think about when ‘attitude' and ‘muscles' are gone. "Fine. If I promise to start living, will you both go away?" I ask in a huff.

It started off great and I was excited about where this book would take me, then it stalled. I started finding Lizzie a little boring and whiny. Then the two men, Grant and Richi, again, to start, I was liking them, then they got a little boring. There was no real build up to the story. The characters felt flat to me, like they were the same person. The whole our parents were together and broke up,(why?- this was never made clear) so we are supposed to be together made me roll my eyes. The depth of the men's conviction that they were made to be together, had me waiting for the punchline that they were some kind of shifter and she was their mate. But that wasn't so. I could still see this being a good read, but it needs some work.

The story line had promise but the writing lacked depth as did the characters. The whole way through, as I continued to read, it frustrated me more and more with the stilted, jagged, oft times juvenile writing. Can we also say predictable, cliched dialog? It read like the most predictable of "bad romance" cliches that everyone makes fun of. Even the interpersonal dialog among the characters begged you to cry "please stop". Ugh! I don't think I will even try anything again from this author.

She has found that solitude is a better option than dealing with the outside world as well as the troubles it always seems to dump on her doorstep.Well that is until the day her childhood crushes come knocking Lizzie doesn't want to let them in but they will not give up till she does. These men thrill Lizzie and what they have to offer her may yet mend her broken heart. But The world has a way of sneaking up on you, as well as the people and they may very well yet get in there way.Grant and Richi have known forever that Lizzie would be a big part of their lives, but maybe not how big. And now they find themselves in a position to save there Little Lizzie from a threat, They will do everything in there power to protect her after all she is there everything. As without her their hearts would be shattered forever. Can they convince Lizzie that she needs them both?
