Great English translation effort by Kodansha By Gromer Kodansha has done a very decent English translation of this series, with interesting background notes by the translators. If you finished Vol. 5 you are going to be very irritated because it's the ultimate cliffhanger. From Amazon's listing, it seems like Vols 6-10 will be released in English in the August 2015-Jan 2016 timeframe. Season 2 in the anime isn't going to come out in Japan till 2016, and God knows when it will be licensed in the US. So, US fans will have a dry period for an unbearably long time. At least if you own the physical books you can re-read them if you are suffering from withdrawal!

The evil behind Bishamon is at work and the ultimate showdown between her and Yato draws near. We learn the story behind the hatred she has for him and where loyalties lie. Great plotting and exciting coming this far in the story but 'waaaaa' the ending! OMG, so totally devastating if what appears to happen really happens. Waaaaa! Need. next. volume!

If You Loved It Before, You'll Keep Loving It Now By Maltzel Building upon volume 4's treachery and deceit, this volume unleashes all hell on both sides. Yato, Yukine, and Hiyori's relationships with each other continue to build while Bishamon and her regalias' seem to fall apart. The machinations from within hit their stride and any fan of good antagonists (and their expressions) are going to enjoy the variety that crop up and develop over the course of the chapters. The story continues to stress consequences for individual actions to fuel tension and it's still working out wonderfully.Some of the translation choices sound a little stilted but are minimal and the translator notes includes at the back are very informative, making the overall read enjoyable and without glaring distractions. The series' trademark comedy continues to be interwoven with the drama mostly effectively, allowing these characters to become only more endearing in their duplicity and tonally jarring. The yonkoma comics included at the end of the main narrative are equally hilarious.The volume does end on a rather ominous and strikingly memorable cliffhanger, but if you've loved Noragami up until this point, said cliffhanger will probably only drive you to want the next volume even more.
