About the Author How to Succeed by Failing is Jon-Barrett Ingels first published work. He studied Theatre and Screenwriting at Chapman University. He spends his time raising his six-year old daughter and contemplating the differences between California Syrah, Australian Shiraz, and the wines of Northern Rhone. He is currently working on his fiction novel, which he has been chiseling away at for the last eight years.

A Powerfully Genuine and Vulnerable Journey By Scott "How to Succeed by Failing" is an enjoyably genuine and vulnerable retelling of delusion and discovery in the dawn of a 9/11 America. Ingels entertains and inspires with his recollection of idealism and desire. His great American road trip will make you both jealous of the volume at which he lived, and curious of the depths an artist will mine to find their creative purpose. I laughed at times, but was constantly both surprised and sympathetic at every turn of events. The reality of his history left me wanting to know more about him and his family, feeling for him both hope and fear.
