Deadpool is dealing with the fallout of having his moral compass inverted during Axis. He's caught in the middle of some who found his new demeanor refreshing, and some who all out hated it. Now that he's back to normal, he's trying to pull loose ends together while navigating how to work in his new found conscience. This volume has hit final, all out with Ultimatum and the Death of Deadpool.Art wise, it's gorgeous, as always. There are a few style changes in the volume, but it mostly sticks to Espin.

Omega Red is kicking poor farmers off their land for his own good. Deadpool decides a hero would stop him so he does. The Ultimatum still wants revenge for Deadpool killing so many of them and destroying their hellicarrier so they go after his daughter. Big mistake. Next Deadpool gets revenge for that. Then several short stories about Deadpool's friends.

Wells Collecting: Deadpool (2012) #41-44, #250"SPOILER: Deadpool Dies at the End" is printed on the blurb at the back of this volume. While it's not really a spoiler--Deadpool's (and really the entire Marvel-verse's) death has been teased for months--it is bittersweet to read the final installment of a great Deadpool series.Previously, Deadpool experienced something of an identity crisis during Deadpool Volume 7: Axis. As a result of the Avengers & X-Men: Axis event and the related inversion crisis Deadpool briefly became zen. Even after regaining his (at best) chaotic good orientation, Deadpool seems to have regrown a conscience. In this volume, Deadpool is hired by Roxxon to clear out Waziristani resistance fighters who are obstructing Roxxon's access to oil. However this new conscience puts Deadpool on the receiving end of Roxxon's mercenary forces, including Omega Red. The two weapon X projects engage in an epic battle. But Deadpool's new-found conscience may not survive after his nemesis, Flag Smasher, makes a move against Deadpool's family. The grand finale is an bloody madcap massacre!Writers Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn have a knack for Deadpool--the series is funny and fast paced, and this final volume in this Deadpool series continues their excellent work at the helm. They've created a zany bloody post-modern self-referential superhero comic.Issue #250 contains a number of short stories and a pretty amusing "roast" and points readers toward the epic Secret Wars event in order to find out what happens next.
