They work on these things throughout.-Writing. Johnson's writing style is clear and appealing.-Hot. Enough said.-BDSM. The elements of safe, sane, and consensual are highly present. If there are anomalies, they are addressed in later books and seem to be character quirks.Dislikes:-I didn't particularly like the element Vanessa's, ah, predicament provided. It was good for character development, but I wasn't a fan of it.-I didn't really like Zach. I think I would have enjoyed more of a one on one dynamic for Dare.Overall:Above the Dungeon is spectacular, and I absolutely feel it deserves 5 stars. I enjoyed seeing the progression of the characters' stories throughout the seriesI nearly dropped a star because I felt Dare in the Dungeon didn't do the series justice, but I still very much enjoyed it.

Wodehouse's comic masterpieces, but he's not the worst and is assuredly the most active, with at least 25 Wodehouse titles under his belt. He is, in fact, one of the most popular and active readers in the general audiobook field. He reads with a dry British accent, low-key and almost drawling. His great weakness is that he enunciates all young women with the same breathy, indistinguishably vapid intonation. With men, on the other hand, he offers a wide interpretation, some quite funny as he portrays such personality traits as growling irascibility or stumbling befuddlement. Luckily for him here, there are few female characters. Author Wodehouse began publishing books in 1902 and died in 1975 after having been named a Knight of the British Empire. The present book first appeared in 1921 at a time when Wodehouse was at least as well known for his collaborative work in America as a playwright. As usual with Wodehouse, misunderstandings and coincidences abound. About the Author Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse (P. G. Wodehouse) was an English humorist and writer best known for his Jeeves and Blandings Castle novels. Educated at boarding schools, Wodehouse turned to writing at a young age, demonstrating great skill at humorous sketches and musical lyrics. He continued to write part-time while pursuing, at the behest of his father, a career in banking, and successfully contributed numerous pieces to Punch, Vanity Fair, and The Daily Express, among other publications. In addition to his literary work, Wodehouse was incorporated into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in recognition of his collaboration with Cole Porter on Anything Goes, his lyrics to the song Bill from Show Boat, and his work on the musicals Rosalie and The Three Musketeers.

While interned along with other British citizens in Germany during the Second World War, Wodehouse made a series of radio broadcasts for which he was accused of being a collaborator; and, although later cleared of the charges, he never returned to England. His work has influenced many other writers including Evelyn Waugh, Rudyard Kipling, J. K. Rowling, and John Le Carr?. P. G. Wodehouse died in 1975 at the age of 93.

Getting locked out of his artist friend's apartment in a scarlet bathrobe, and many more such money-making schemes gone haywire, including those to get his f-in-law's approval. The portrait gone awry, and the shoes left outside the door.... Oh no! I'm not going to tell you anymore, you just must read this, and you'll find yourself laughing uncontrollably wondering how you ever thought the world was a drab place! With Wodehouse, there is always laughter in the world!

Hotel de Wodehouse By Gord Wilson In addition to an avid enjoyment of the Drones, Jeeves, golf, and Mulliner tales, I find I am developing a marked taste for Wodehouse's light novels. Everything he touches, it seems, turns to laughter. Other places the commedia del arte takes place in motion picture studios, on cruise ships, at resorts on the French Riviera, but here the venue is the Hotel Cosmopolis, drawn, no doubt, from his observations of New York nightlife. And here's Archie, a good-hearted, bumbling Brit out to seek his fortune in the colonies. And of course he met a girl while vacationing. And of course she's a millionaire's daughter. And of course said millionaire is proprietor of said hotel. Does it sound like a formula? Right ho! a formula for fun. Richard Usborne says this book is a lot of stiched together stories. But so what? Ukridge is a lot of not stiched together stories. This book introduces one of Wodehouse's best heroines, Lucille, as the power behind the throne of the Lucy/Archie axis, together pitted against her anti-Archie father. How can you not order it?

What will your family think about some of your deeper revelations? Brian Johnson seems to have bared all in this memoir of his first twenty years on this earth. But has he? Given a sniff of hidden secrets, the human condition cries out for more. I think Johnson has done a good job and told his reader just enough. He is a very good writer and while the book is a brief read it is a fascinating one.

This volume really meandered with no focus. It felt like Robinson knew the book was getting cancelled and just kind of gave up.

By Susan H The author, Irina, does a wonderful job of explaining the benefits of using apple cider vinegar (ACV) and how you can use it to improve your skin and hair. Heck! It's even good for losing weight. Who doesn't need to lose a few pounds? Even though I have been a fan of natural ACV for years, this book taught me a lot of things I didn't know about it. The author explains the difference between homemade, natural, and synthetic ACV which I think is very important to people just discovering this product. There are LOTS of recipes included in this book and I really like that they use normal household products. I can't wait to try them, especially the one for the anti-cellulite compress :)

I could not put it down.Chloe, Zeke, and Noah returned to the ocean. Yes, I did say Noah! Let's just say that Chloe's powers are growing more and more each day. Almost everyone in the ocean are their enemies. How do you trust? Who do you trust? Can Zeke and Chloe even trust their parents? Yes, we do meet Chloe's real dad in this book! But that is all I can say! Who he is will shock you! You will have to read the book for yourself to know how their final plan went, along with their final battle! You will also find out who Chloe picks! Yay for love triangles!!Skye Malone is amazing! I still can't figure out how she created all the creatures she did! They were awesome creatures and characters! Each and every character had their own unique personality and I fell in love with all of them. Not Noah's cousins though. This book wasn't just your average mermaid book. There were actually other creatures hunting mermaids for once, instead of your usual human vs. Mermaid story.I'm very sad this series is over, but Skye Malone informed me that something exciting is coming!!! The language was exquisite and well written. The story was very exciting and contained many elements. There was love, hate, adventure, mystery, suspense. Although there was great attention to detail, there were none of those boring spots where the background is described on page after page. Chloe was a girl with a big problem and supposedly crazy parents. As the story develops, she discovers why they don't want her near the ocean. Turns out there are multiple people who want her dead, in the ocean and on the land. Things are also complicated by her love life. Thankfully, she has great friends to help her and give her advice. In the end, it all works out and the bad guys get their just rewards. It is a great story and I highly recommend it.

Zeke's brother is beyond help, or so it seems. They are hunted by more than one psychotic group and try to find help with Zeke's mother. Little do they know, but she's just as bad. And Chloe finally finds her father. Who knew???This book has an incredible ending, and I was surprised with it. It's very sad, but nothing else made sense. It's sad but exciting. Zeke will become more as will all of the others who were exposed to the storm and the power emitted from it. Noah is my hero. He will continue to be a bright light in the sky.

The beginning was just not even erotica it was pretty much dark erotica .I had to force myself to get past the first chapter .I was told this was a good book umm No It's not I wish she would of taken the time to go through the first part and get a better beginning. I hate that I had to give this book a bad review because with a little bit of changes it could be a heck of alot better.

That being said, I was thoroughly disappointed with this story from page one and had to force myself to continue.The characters were extremely one dimensional and the storyline lacked everything I would expect in this type of genre. The storyline was all over the place, moving from present to past, which isn't a bad thing if properly executed (this betakes a level of finesse which this author lacks). The writing style was very juvenile, with the use of repetitive words, incomplete sentences and grammar errors that I couldn't overlook (which doesn't happen often). Even the sex scenes were blah. To put it mildly, this was a bad read and not even worthy of a one star.I thought long and hard before posting this review because I hate to be harsh on any aspiring author, but my role as an ARC reader I felt obligated me to be honest with potential readers.

The errors contained in this book were some of the worst I've ever seen. Spelling, grammar, and punctuation were appalling. That I might have been able to overlook if the storyline was even remotely decent, but this.... this was an abomination. I should've gotten the hint by the blurb... "her horrible past is coming back into her mind like vomit." I overlooked it and thought, with all the hype about this book, it can't be that bad. Boy was I wrong! It just continued getting worse.Erotic? Not even close. Actually, it was quite amusing. I found myself hysterically laughing through most of this book, not because he story was meant to be funny, but because this was so badly done.My advice to potential readers - don't waste your time or money on this one. You will be more than just a little disappointed unless you have a thing for ridiculous storylines with no substance. This was the absolute worst read I have ever encountered in my life.

If this had been an established writer, I probably would have given it four stars, mainly because the characters were flushed out just enough to begin to care for them, but not really enough to forget this is just a book and so, at least for me, not enough for to get wrapped up the danger the characters experienced. But this is an engaging story and the characters are likeable, so I gave it five stars because quite frankly this is very good for a first effort. And I for one am really looking forward to getting to know these characters and to be introduced to the new ones who will be coming along.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Loved this book By Monica I Am Phantom is a fantastic superhero novel, and an excellent debut. The protagonist, Drake is likeable and interesting. Even though Drake's powers aren't unique to him alone, you empathize with him easily, and I was cheering on him and his crew the whole time. I liked all of the main characters friends, although my favorite of the four (Matt, Melanie, Liz, and Cody) was definitely Melanie. That being said, I would say the most complex character was Ryans, and I didn't expect (but enjoyed quite a bit) the twisty history that he had. It was pretty hard for me to pin down his agenda until much later in the book. I grew attached to the characters as I read on, and became invested in what happened to them. Sykes was...interesting for me, and very creepy at times. Well done.The plot wasn't incredibly complex, but it was a fun read and there were several twists that I wasn't expecting. The action scenes were well written, not boring blow by blow but enough to know exactly what was happening. During the fight scenes there was kind of the feeling you get when reading a superhero comic or watching an action movie, so I'd say that's a good sign. While there was violence, it wasn't overdone. As a first book, I was really impressed. I easily slipped into the world and the characters. Where there was tension, I was tense. (The mental hospital scene, I was reading in the dark...and I definitely turned on some lights to read the rest of the way through). Decisions made by the protagonist and friends had consequences for them, and sometimes serious ones, which I found refreshing in comparison to many novels where events and decisions have no meaning or effect. The writing was good with minimal grammatical errors (if any), and I could visualize almost every scene in my head. When I picked it up, I sped through it.Overall, I really enjoyed the book, and would definitely buy a sequel. The book's ending leaves open the opportunity for one, and I would love to see it happen. With relate-able characters, effortless reading, and interesting twists, it's an easy choice for me.

Drake relates the story in straightforward, first person prose touched with humor and complete with kinetic fight scenes, blood, bodies and explosions – more than enough to keep even reluctant readers entertained. Following a fiery crisis scene, the satisfying denouement allows room for a possible series.

17 of 18 people found the following review helpful. The comic formally known as the odyssey By D. Lotempio The Odyssey works better as archetype than as an actual story. It is the quintessential heroic (gender-neutral) cycle of a protagonist who struggles to retain his or her core nature in a world capricious and deadly. Matt Fraction and artist Christian Ward re-imagine the Odyssey as a sci-fi romp that echoes the bracing style of 60's era European sci-fi comics like Barbarella. It succeeds in provocation but I don’t think this first volume achieves much success as a narrative. It’s turgid. It’s campy.An article by Vince Brusio from Previewsworld called ODY-C a “Burlesque Barbarella,” which elegantly sums up the strengths and weaknesses of the story. It’s trendy and provocative and colorful and attractive and offensive and cheeky. The character are deliberately designed counter to typical expectations: Odyessia is rendered as a mixed-race melange; her crew are equally mixed in race and body-type, the queen of the gods Hera is given a beard to make Jesus and hipsters jealous; and Zeus is a plus-size philandering matriarch. Is she deliberately given this body-type so she can ironically undermine the epitaph— Thunder Thighs? It’s all very refreshing but it lacks any depth, which is a disappointment because the story decides to engage in gender-politics.For example, the gender-extinction of men in the universe by Zeus has profound implications within the story but within the reader as well. As you read, you can’t help but begin to ask yourself what are gender-roles? Are they merely social-constructs to which we owe as little or as much allegiance as we want? Those are interesting questions. But after reading the first volume, I’m still not sure what is at stake in the story nor how it relates to these questions. The ODY-C universe seems to get along quite well without men especially after a third gender is created. Consequently, the potential re-introduction of the male gender seems pointless.Fraction has indicated in interviews that an inspiration for the series was a desire to create a strong, female role model for his daughter. ODY-C achieves that purpose at a superficial level. Weirdly, the series could be read as reinforcing traditional female and male stereotypes if you look at it from a gender-politics point of view. The Sebex - the third gender - appears to adopt the submissive house wife / sex partner role. No sebexes serve as soldiers or in an authoritative role in the first volume. I guess in any universe if you produce children then you’re left left behind.“So how do I walk the line between narrative fidelity and anything remotely relatable to human beings alive today.” - Matt Fraction talking about ODY-C.This is my problem with the book - it is a story that wants to discuss provocative ideas but can’t bother to relate itself. It’s a spectacle. It’s a riot that pepper sprays you with science fiction. It lacks any self-reflection therefore lacks maturity. The ODY-C propels the reader into a fantastical future that appears to dismiss the past and past tropes but can’t really advance the discussion past pomp and circumstance.

9 of 11 people found the following review helpful. Go read Prophet instead! By Paul Burgess Matt Fraction has always been a hit or miss writer to me, but Ody-C falls somewhere in the middle. There are enough updates to the classic tale to keep fans of the story happy, but many recognizable themes and plot turns that keep it on track. I enjoy audacious and bizarre comics but the execution of this volume fell on its face sprinting.The artwork is beautiful but, as others have noted, too chaotic to discern what's happening in many panels. Some may find this artistic, and in a non-narrative medium I wouldn't mind, but here it was annoying and tiring. Seriously, though, almost every page spread in this volume deserves a run of prints!I will say that the combination of twisted art, alien character motivations, and the phrasing of the writing felt like a knock-off of the vastly superior Prophet reboot from Brandon Graham. Go buy all the trades of Prophet instead and borrow this from a friend.

By para This trade collects ODY-C #1-5.odycThe Odyssey in space in a universe where nearly all the people and Gods are women. Sounds much more interesting in premise than it ended up in execution. Fraction’s re-imaginings of Greek myth and parts of Odysseus’s journey are brilliant, but suffer under too grand and abstract a vision. The comic isn’t particularly cohesive and it’s often unclear how the scheming of various Gods behind the scenes is affecting the main(?) story of Odyssia’s trip home.Odyssia herself doesn’t connect with the reader well, and other than being told she’s a hero I’m not sure why we’re supposed to be cheering for her successful return (especially since we’re also told she might or might not even want to go home in the first place).I found the art extremely variable. Like the story I think it tries to hard too be abstract, leading to muddled coloring and hard to follow sequences. On the other hand some pages and panels are truly beautiful, capturing the trippy and alien feel they seemed to be going for.ODY-C is a comic I expected to, and wished, I liked more than I did. As a huge fan of both Greek mythology and science fiction this comic seemed right up my alley. Unfortunately I don’t think it worked well nor achieved even close to its full potential.
