Shades Let me start off by saying that the title truly does sum up the book perfectly: Lust!We start off with Avery watching a gorgeous man jog past her house. We later find out that the man is none other than Kash, an office cor-worker. Avery has been lusting after him for quite some time, and with the description of his looks, I can see why. The guy it hot! (Those shades!) And be honest, how many of us haven't lusted after a good-looking co-worker?Then, we get a little glimpse into Kash's POV - which I loved. I enjoyed reading about his thoughts and feelings. How he has also been lusting after Avery. How he has struggled with wanting her, but wanting to remain professional in the workplace.I enjoyed the fact that Ms. Dean kept the characters' actions/thoughts real. I was able to relate to all the jealousy, desire, lust, passion, and insecurities that they both felt. The misunderstandings that occur are very realistic - they are something I believe many of us go through in the beginning of a relationship when we are learning just how important communication is. While I wish we had more of a connection between them being in lust, to them being in love (more detail of their journey there), I still enjoyed the overall story. It wasn't over-the-top with unrealistic billionaire with a damsel in distress. Both Avery and Kash knew what they wanted out of a relationship, and both were willing to admit their feelings in the end after some misunderstanding and hurt feelings, and move forward. There is heat, there is hot passion, a gorgeous guy, a beautiful girl, relatable emotions, and realistic actions/feelings. I would recommend this book to any adult looking for a brief escape into a world of 'Lust'.

The chemistry and tension are killing us. The mad sexual desire drives us out of our minds. The only person who can satisfy us is just within reach and at one point we can't fight the temptation. But when the haze of lust fades away, albeit for a moment, we realize we have been trapped in a not so healthy arrangement. Perhaps you may try to stay strong, restrain from calling, try to act indifferent... till the next text message or a phone call. How long would you last being at someone's beck and call? This debut novella by Tori Dean is a sweet and funny story about the complicated relationship between two office co-workers. The point of view switches between Avery and Kash and it goes to show how often we may end up misunderstanding each other. Especially when our ability to communicate is clouded by intense lust, jealousy, fears, and doubts. Can love grow on such an unstable foundation?Avery and Kash have the hots for each other from the very first time they meet. But while they are sexually compatible they seriously lack in being honest and open in their communication. As I was reading, I thought that neither of them really bothered to listen to the other or try to understand them. They felt quite human and easy to relate to. For most of the book, I liked them, even if they were being silly and making plenty of mistakes on the path to a better relationship. At times, I found Kash to be seriously dense and headstrong, especially by the end of the story. Of course, he redeemed himself and made it up to Avery but I seriously wondered how a supposedly smart guy may be so blind to obvious things. I felt that Avery was a bit too needy at times but given her history that was easy to understand. On the other hand, she was definitely no damsel in distress and knew how to fight for what she wanted. She also had no trouble to put Kash at his place and that is a trait of character I definitely want to see more often in the contemporary erotic romance. What I really liked about the story was that it feels very realistic and the reader can easily walk in the character's shoes. There were no expensive restaurants, helicopter rides, and extravagant gestures. Still it succeeded in being romantic and touching. The sex scenes showed very well the mind blowing lust those two felt for each other. However, my general feeling was that Avery and Kash spent most of the time in lust and angst. Sometimes I questioned what binds them together except the craving of their flesh. I wish there were more scenes that were not exclusively in bed or in a heated argument. If you're looking for a quick, romantic book that flows easily and can be finished in one reading I'd recommend you to give it a try. I enjoyed Lust and I look forward to reading the future works of the author.

By LJMiles Lust is definitely the perfect description for Tori Dean’s new story! Lust follows Avery Sloan, a young woman whose come out of a bad relationship—and straight into the arms of the sexy Kash Kincade. Kash is tall, handsome and stacked in every way possible and makes for sexy hero for Avery—a very relatable and capable heroine. What I really loved about this story how human Avery is. I could feel myself in this story and really sympathized with her. There’s a lot of complexity here and some relatable struggles that really draw you into the characters—in addition to lots of hot sex. Avery and Kash’s relationship revolves around their undeniable sexual chemistry, but the attraction needs to be tempered by reality—what do they both want out of this? Is it only sex?Another aspect of the story that I enjoyed was how it jumped from Avery’s point of view to Kash’s. You’re really able to get into the characters head’s this way and it definitely helped draw me into the story. Two sides of the same sexy coin—with heart and real connections—equals count me in!This is definitely more than just your wham-bam erotica. There’s a lot of heart here—that thoroughly complements the sex and definitely takes it into the erotic romance category. Though this is Tori’s first story, I feel like it’s a really solid foundation from which to build on and I only expect to enjoy her stories more and more in the future. Sexy and sassy, this is a great read for women on the go—or anyone who need a sexy pick me up!
