By Sheila73 This story is about a couple who really did exist in history, but the author made up her own story of their intimate relationship.Theodora is a strong young woman, despite her past of being forced to perform demeaning tasks to survive. Many women would've broken under some of the abuse she endured, but instead Theodora was always finding the good in everyone and worrying about what she could do to help her people. The Christian Church had been split into two opposing factions and times were difficult between the two. When she had the opportunity to help bring unity by advising the emperor's most likely next successor, Justinian, she was delighted to be given he chance to do something worthy of her knowledge and talents.What neither Justinian nor Theodora expected was the intense physical attraction between them, which blossomed into a deep and unconditional love. Justinian's dark dominant needs and desires aren't something she initially feels comfortable with. She's experienced too much unpleasantness from so-called dominant men in her past. But Justinian gains her trust and the relationship that develops between them is beautiful and pure. They really do complete each other, as cliche as that sounds. She not only entrusts Justinian with her complete sexual submission but also stands by his side as a strong partner in his politics.Theodora goes from being among the lowest rungs of society to being an Empress, which was very rare in that time. Justinian respected her opinions and they worked together to reduce conflict between the opposing factions of the Church and also included the common people in celebrations, making everyone feel more included. This was the perfect love story, one I could read again and again.Even though actual history might not have happened exactly as in this book, I'd like to think that the real Justinian and Theodora had just as much love and insatiable desire for each other. The sex scenes in this book are scorching hot! I admit to re-reading a few of them several times just to experience them again. This was my first read by this author, but now I'm definitely going to find other works by her!

I have now read several books by the author and though I am not generally a reader of erotica or BDSM books I enjoy reading this By Expatreader I was lucky to receive an ARC of this book from the author in return for an honest review.I have now read several books by the author and though I am not generally a reader of erotica or BDSM books I enjoy reading this author's.The Submission of Theodora is set in Constantinople during the Roman period. It is well researched to ensure that the times and situations are historically accurate and the words and terms are historically correct for that period. She gives vivid accounts of both the times and situations and takes the reader back to experience it for themselves.The author has a way with words and is able to describe the "sex" scenes in a way that is descriptive, explicit, historically correct in terminology but also cleverly woven in a way that enhances the story. She paints a very erotic picture of the scene, at times making me uncomfortable (perhaps due to not liking BDSM) but by no means detracting from the story itself giving it an even balance with the actual plot itself.I enjoyed learning about life in Constantinople during the Roman period and loved the fact that I learnt words that were in use during the period that have either fallen out of fashion or mean something totally different now.This is not just a story about erotica and BDSM it is also a love story, rags to riches and triumph of success over tragedy.

Submission of Theodora is a fantastic read for anyone who likes erotica/bdsm By afranhammond Submission of Theodora is a fantastic read for anyone who likes erotica/bdsm. The story in itself i really enjoyed although i wanted just a little more of it. Lots of hot and sexy scenes between Justinian and Theo! Loved them! She has written an incredible plot with some twists. I like that Theodora had a harsh background and despite this Justinian loved her like no other. His rise to Emperor definately has some shadyness in there. What is he really capable of? How far is he willing to go to get what he wants? Oh.. he goes to great lengths to achieve his goals. Theodora is so sweet and caring. She had to go through some horrible situations that made me feel so sad for her. Justinians aunt heard the rumors about what happen with Theodora but down right didn't care what the truth was, she instantly forbid him to marry her. Well, did she make a big mistake! One she did regret. The sex scenes are so good and they are through the whole story. More of those then the actually story. That is my only complaint. I just simply wanted more of the story. All in all, i still truly enjoyed the book. Fabulous story Siobhan Daiko! Fabulous!!kindle books and more blog
