Heck, if you don't own one buy this book and then get to the store and get a skillet! My mom use to rave about making dishes in cast iron skillets and how amazing the food tasted. She passed down a few of her skillets to me and I purhcased this book, glad I did!!! The family now raves about the morning dishes I have been making!! At first it seems basic, but then quickly captures the readers attention and pulls them in. It's a good blend of confusion for the character and reader as well, as the story line unfolds. It has a unique way that tugs on your emotional strings. It has a way that touches anyone who has had someone special in there lives. It's a good first building block to a promising writing career. Keep the pen to the paper and never stop dreaming!

The gluten-free guy makes it simple for you By Janeth Mao As a Pediatric Registered Nurse, it is my responsibility to work with other team members to ensure that my patients and their families have proper information about nutrition concerning their health condition. Jack provided some personal insight to the some of the real struggles of what living with several foods allergies must be like in a social environment. He also did a lot of research into ways to have schools, families and restaurants accommodate to his medical needs as well as provided recipes, places to eat or avoid and list of resources for supplements. I deal with patients in hospitals with severe sensitivities to more than just food, including those with anaphylactic reactions. This book will be a great guide to assist not only college students but to everyone and their families with a gluten allergy. I like that it's very easy to read and straight to the point as not many people have time to read a novel. I will definitely refer my patients, parents and colleagues to this book to help them transition from the hospital to home setting.

The recipes were great and I can't wait to try them! I also loved the section dedicated to the practical and incredibly useful allergy cards. I'll definitely remember to use them next time I travel outside the country. Despite having food allergies, all of the tips in this book will make you feel completely comfortable at college, at social events, and restaurants. I would definitely recommend this book to college students (and even non-college students) with food allergies!

It's refreshing to hear all these things from someone who has dealt with and experienced going to college and managing their food allergies. Going to college is stressful as it is, but this book can alleviate a lot of the worries surrounding your food allergies with great tips and experiences on how to manage them on your own with new food and budget limitations.

Will her father agree and let Mei-hua’s aunt bind her feet, crippling her for life? Or will Mei-hua be able to convince her father to refuse to bind her feet, to let them grow naturally—too big for her to ever wear Lotus Shoes? There's so much depth in this story that it was just as fascinating for this middle-aged reader as it would be for any young adult. DeVoe gently introduces weighty issues, such as the perpetuation of gender oppression by women and how it is internalized, without coming across as pedantic or lecturing. The reader senses Mei-Hua's confusion and hesitation upon being told that her feet would be bound. A-gu is determined to do right by her daughter and niece, while cousin Nu-zhong dreams of owning beautiful lotus shoes. Mei-Hua questions, while aunt and cousin dutifully accept agonizing pain as the price of honor, status, and security. I was drawn into the story and my own toes curled with fear for Mei-Hua!This short story is billed as the prologue to DeVoe's developing Mei-Hua Adventure trilogy. I've start reading 'Hidden' and can't wait to dig into the rest of the series!If 'Lotus Shoes' & 'Hidden' are any indication, Mei-Hua's Adventures are destined to become a Young Adult classic -- that is, literature that can be read at any age and continuously reveal new meaning. I highly recommend it.

This read was steady paced and full of unexpected twists and turns that I never saw coming. It seems that everyone is messing with or involved with someone else’s significant other and the match-ups will leave you speechless. This book was full of greed, jealousy, deception and secrets that will leave you reeling. I thought that book 1 was unpredictable, but part 2 was something of another caliber. The storyline is great and pretty relatable. The characters are written in a way that allows the reader to identify with each one of them. Anxiously awaiting the next installment.

I fell in love with these people in book 1 and I will definitely purchase book 3 but this book was disgusting. Persia really did the most in a housd where her children live. The story was great until all the irresponsible sex started happening. Very disappointed and in need of a bath.

All parts should have been put together to make one really good book, instead of 3 (or more) decent books. I can't wait until the day when authors go back to giving us one great full body of work. Rant over...
