Has anyone actually tried to make these recipes? "Healthy KFC Pasta Salad" requires 2 cups food service coleslaw dressing. Does the author realize how many different types of "food service coleslaw dressing" are on the market? They're all made differently so which one should be used to get the correct flavor? "Healthy Olive Garden Soup" ingredients have "pts" after half the ingredients. (6 potatoes, chopped up 18 pts) I'm assuming that means 18 points. Was this recipe from a "Weight Watcher" cookbook? Half the ingredients have "opts" at the end and I have no clue what that means. (1 onion cut up, opts. 6 cups water, opts) It can't be "optional" because without the water, it wouldn't be soup. Then there's the 1/2 tsp of floor sage required. (Yes is says "floor" sage) In the directions, it says to "Cook the 'floor' turkey along with 1/2 tsp black pepper. (In another recipe, it says to store the mix in "a dried up location.") Obviously English is not the native language of the author."Healthy Sesame Chicken" requires "1 egg, outdone." I have to admit that I have no idea what that means."Healthy French Toast" requires "1 loaf French bread shopped." I can at least guess at that one and assume the bread should be "chopped."The last recipe is my favorite, "Sonic's Sea Water." The title of this book is 20 "Healthy" Copycat Restaurant Recipes. This recipe contains, Sprite, sugar, artificial flavoring, and blue food coloring. How can a recipe with those ingredients be called "healthy"?Personally I think this book needs some work.

By Patrick The author starts this book off with a introduction on how healthy eating can impact your emotional and mental health. I found this very informative. After that the author wastes no time by jumping straight into the 20 promised recipes. The instructions for each were well written and easy to follow. I especially like the "Healthy Sesame Chicken" recipe. Overall good recipe book, would recommend!

While some of the instructions are a little confusing, and the recipes have no photos (a pet peeve of mine), the linguine pescatore I tried from this book turned out really well, so well in fact that I think I'll be making it again very soon.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Love the Dessert Section! By Robbie I love using my slow cooker and this book is a great addition to add variety to what I'm cooking. Although the recipes are gluten free and paleo recipes, this cookbook is not restrictive at all. There are so many recipes if you want to make soup, meat dishes, or seafood. My favorite part of the book was the dessert section. I am so used to cooking meat in my slow cooker that I forget the possibilities for dessert. The book is comprehensive and covers any meal that you would want to use a slow cooker for. I would definitely recommend this book to add variety to your slow cooking repertoire.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. good cooking method By L. P. As a mom, I am always concern on what food should I prepare for my family. It should always be delicious yet healthy. I really make it a point to research new recipes for my family's consumption. I have a slower cooker at home but I rarely use it. Good thing, I came across with this book which includes recipes that I can do with my slow cooker. Moms like me would love to have this kind of book because it offers a wide variety of recipes and it is really healthy because it does not contain any gluten. You won't go wrong with the procedures because it is very easy to follow. I am really excited to cook some of the recipes here.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Something new. By Samantha Travis The recipes on this book are different from the ones that I have read before, mainly because its gluten free and it uses slow cooker. Some of the recipes includes pot roast and casseroles, it also has seafood, chicken, pork and beef recipes. The part that got me excited was the desert part, the instructions were very clear and simple. It even has recipe for beverages which were pretty good. If you want something new and exciting I would recommend this book.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Lost in translation By Natalie The cover and blurb of the story look promising. However, the reading was very difficult and slow going. After the first chapter it was obvious that English is not the language this story was originally written in, and the translation is lacking. Sentences were incomplete or didn't make any sense at all, and jumped between tenses. After a bit of research I found out that the original is actually written in German...my mother tongue. Since the story seems promising and incorporates facets of familiar fairy tales, I will try to get a copy of that one.

❤️ Reviews for This Too Is Love ❤️   "This book in particular is both heartbreaking and breathtakingly beautiful, in turns and sometimes at once. This is the book John Green would have written if he were a girl." -Tammi Labrecque, author of For Better, For Worse   "I love the rawness of the main character." -Eryn Scott, author of A Chance for Sunny Skies   "This book is amazing, raw, emotional and real."   "To me a good book is one that can make you ugly cry, and did I ever."   I wanted best friends forever and calls from a boyfriend, but my phone only rings when some guy can't get what he wants from his girlfriend.   And knows he can get it from me.   I am my mother's daughter.   It wasn't always like this. At first it was just one guy, but when someone new drove me home, whistling and saying, "Damn, girl, you're hot," I knew what I was becoming, what I was doing.   I was going to let anyone have me until someone wanted me for more.   But then I found out I was pregnant.    And I hoped everything would change.   Hope. The word carries so much. Because what if it doesn't work out or show up and come through? But what if it does?

7 of 7 people found the following review helpful. This book is amazing, raw By Shana Dines This book is amazing, raw, emotional and real. Trix has been raised, and I use that term loosely, by an alcoholic mother. They have been homeless, lived in motels and her mother has had numerous boyfriends and has prostituted herself out. Trixie has no idea what a normal family is. She finds love in the only way she knows how with boys that only use her. She doesn't know who her father is and wants badly to know what she comes from. She finds out that her father is Mexican and fantasizes about the family she doesn't know. When she finds out she is pregnant she turns her life around with the guidance of an Art teacher who truly cares for her and wants her to know her value. It is heartbreakingly real, beautiful and hopeful. I won't tell you want else happens because I don't want to spoil it for you. It makes it more understandable why it is so hard for kids who come from such a background, not to know any other way than what they learned without help and hope. Anya is a wonderful writer.

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. Heartwarming, yet Heartwrenching By SaraC This Too Is Love hits so close to home in the subject it raises. The book hits on teen pregnancy, dysfunctional families, acting out, loss and finding yourself.Trixie has lived a rough live, her family is dysfunctional to the max, her mother anything but a mother, her aunt and cousin just as dysfunctional, yet still better than the reality she's been living. Determined to start over and find the love she's been craving, she starts giving herself to anyone who wants a part of her, only to end up facing the consequences.Ricky was a everything a you'd expect an unexpected teen dad would be, yet more. He had so much more to offer Trixie, cared about her for who she was, not what she gave him. He valued her, filled a void for her. He showed her what she could have.I think the best part of this entire story is the role of Mrs Carter and Julia and David. They provided Trixie with all the love she ever was denied. Gave her warmth and love, caring and concern, self respect and everything a parent, biological or otherwise should provide their child. This story had so many heartwarming moments and just as many heartbreaking moments. I could so easily connect to Julia and David and their struggle to conceive. I can also relate to their desire to foster a relationship with Trixie. This book was outside my typical genre, but I am so glad that I ventured to read it. It impacted me on such a deep level, it is worth reading no matter what genre you prefer. You can't go wrong with this emotional read!

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. This too is Love By Crystal Yawn This is an enjoyable young adult book. I won't call it a romance, my genre of choice, because it's more about growing pains than a romance.Trixie has a hard life that just gets harder. though her actions are not desirable I think they show a good picture of a young lady who is just looking for one person to love, or even care, about her. The emotional rollercoaster and what this teenager experiences is very sad. but the story pulls you in so you can't stop reading. The time line at the beginning is a bit confusing and left me scratching my head a few times hanging on. I also felt like the ending missed its mark, not that it was bad, just that it could have been more complete.the story contains lots of teenage situations, pregnancy, sex, drinking, drugs, adoption etc. it would not be for everyone

I enjoyed reading the Revealed and Hunted stories, but a little disappointed on the Harnessed story. The human pony was a little weird and not as hot.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Another wonderful anthology! By Kent Act Two by Tamsin Flowers was HOT, short and dirty! Well done.Canoe by Annabeth Leongwas a good story.Lezbozo and the Clown by Allison Wonderland was not my thing. I didn't finish the story. The writing style reminded me of Dr. Seuss and that isn't an image I want when reading erotica.Tryst by Katya Harris was a fun story.Stepping Stone by Harper Bliss was damn HOT! There is a reason that Harper is one of my favorite authors.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Ladylit wins again! By Crazie Betty As always, another great collection of lesbian erotica from Ladylit Publishing.Act Two by Tamsin Flowers: I really enjoyed this story. I appreciated the fact that Tamsin could portray such intricate and different characters in such a short amount of time and I really enjoyed the drama :)Canoe by Annabeth Leong: This was my second favorite story in the collection. I found it totally realistic and I absolutely loved that the MC loved her girlfriend so much that she was trying things she definitely wouldn't have chosen to do on her ow,n except that she wanted to help her GF through some past stuff. Great relationship stuff here.Lezbozo and the Clown by Allison Wonderland: So I'm not gonna lie, this one was a little weird for me. I actually really loved the story about a girl not willing to come out while in high school while secretly being in love with her best friend, who also happened to come out in 8th grade. The weirdness for me was the style of writing and the use of "Grease" quotes with different words input to make the dialogue more "lesbo".Tryst by Katya Harris: This story was very hot to me. I love the idea of "forced orgasm" especially in a setting where the person cannot let out any sort of inclination what is being done to them. Our MC didn't really seem to have too much of an issue either ;)Stepping Stone by Harper Bliss: My favorite story in this collection. It was a little bit taboo, a little bit romantic, and a whole lotta hot! Dang it, I love you Harper!Thank you to Ladylit Publishing for providing this arc in exchange for my honest review.

In Act 2 Tasmin Flowers has two opera stars singing a new song in this hot little number. During a canoe trip a woman helps her lover overcome the the trauma of an old HS would be girlfriend in Canoe by Annabeth Leong. Lesbozo the clown is a very rhyming coming of age story. Very Allison Wonderland! Next Kayta Harris debuts her erotic Tryst. Here she tells of two naughty young women amusing each other during the dull speeches at a wedding. And lastly comes Harper bliss with Stepping Stone. A teacher and a last year student share the woods with each other, could it be that teacher is learning something from her student? This is a most memorable tribute to summer!

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A Telling Tale of the Millennial Struggle By AP This wonderful story is best summarized in a sentence:"To live alone is to not live at all."Sydney, the main character, is a bright, strong willed young woman who finds herself in Greensboro after desperately seeking a way out of her old life. Given her tenacity, watching her triumph, step by step, in her increasingly elaborate facade, even psychologically controlling her emotions and former persona, was simply captivating. Though there were a few aspects and moments that raised questions, it was a believable world that could be easily envisionThings took a turn with the entrance of the love interest. He is done along one of many typical girlish archetypes. Tall, handsome, and mysterious. Their interactions, just like him, are rather unpredictable, wonderfully adding complexity to the plot. This character alone, with just enough prominence to creat disharmony, serves as the connection between the reader and the realities of Sydney's life. Distrust, fear, brashness, and most importantly, a stubbornness blooming from independence. Our generation, an embodiment of these traits, can see just how deleterious that can be to the emotional self through the progression of the writing. The pace alters dramatically at one point in the story, urging us to sense the rapid nature of how her life was changing. But with such an inspiringly fresh representation of Millennials, it doesn't quite stir any doubtful thoughts, making this summer read a hard one to put down. An excellent read for sure. Great job Lex!

By Shadowswept If you love to read character-driven novels such as the kind John Green writes, then I highly recommend this book to you. This author is just as talented at putting you into the mind of her protagonist. I felt like I was walking in Sydney's shoes and seeing the world through her eyes. If you've ever fantasized about trying out a new identity, then you'll be as engrossed in this story as I was. She creates an entirely new life for herself and makes new friends in a place where no one knows her, and she has to rely on herself for her survival. The romance in this book is one of my favorites that I've ever read in a YA novel. I love when the attraction is strong but not acted on right away. It builds the anticipation for them to become a couple. Eric is mysterious and intriguing, and it was great how he drew her in with more than his looks. I like how he was also interested in finding out about her as a person. They make a memorable, distinctive couple.

Alive, by Chandler Baker

From School Library Journal Gr 9 Up—"I was fifteen when my heart betrayed me," begins Stella Cross. Diagnosed with acute cardiomyopathy, she's sure that her days are numbered. Then miraculously, two years later, she receives a heart transplant from an anonymous donor. However, not long after her life-saving surgery, Stella begins experiencing strange side effects, which include terrifying hallucinations as well as excruciating pain at the exact same time every day. When a mysterious boy named Levi arrives at her prep school in Seattle, Stella finds herself inexplicably and intensely drawn to him. They quickly become inseparable, which causes a rift between Stella and her family, her best friend, and her "maybe more than a friend" Henry. Strangely, being with Levi literally alleviates her physical pain. Initially, this makes her think that he's The One, but eventually she begins to wonder if there's something more otherworldly at work. Baker effectively uses the damp Seattle weather to create a tense, sinister atmosphere. Stella isn't portrayed as a damsel in distress, which helps make her a more likable and relatable character. Although she often relies on her friends and has a few missteps along the way, Stella takes control of her situation and is determined to fix it. While the mystery behind Levi's identity isn't completely surprising or original, it should still satisfy most readers. VERDICT A tense supernatural thriller with a plethora of teen appeal.—Kimberly Castle-Alberts, Hudson Library & Historical Society, OH

Review "Plentiful blood-slicked scenes will please horror fans, but the eerie tone surrounding the central mystery is what works best in this supernatural thriller." - Kirkus"A tense supernatural thriller with a plethora of teen appeal." - School Library Journal "Baker's narrative vividly engages readers in the deeper world of transplants, the full experience of receiving a part of another being, and, through Stella exposes heightened sensibilities far beyond the vital physical transition." -- BooklistA young woman's life-saving heart transplant leaves her feeling like an outsider in her own life until she meets a new guy with whom she experiences an undeniable magnetism. Stella is grateful to have survived surgery, but afterward she struggles with her family's and friends' tendency to treat her with kid gloves. Worse, she's plagued by a searing, inexplicable pain that strikes her at exactly the same time each day, making her doubt her sanity. So when gorgeous Levi arrives at her insular private Seattle high school and vigorously pursues her, she's more than ready for the distraction. Being around him seems to produce an actual physical relief that mixes into their steamy attraction. Stella's descent into a haze so unlike her normal behavior that it worries her friends is believable, as are the story's developing chills. Characters are well-developed, including friends Henry (who seems to want more than just friendship) and tough, bawdy Brynn, who has a spot-on sarcastic edge that will be recognizable to many teens: "Okay, lovebird. Stop making me want to vom and don't forget to use protection." In the end, the plotting is largely predictable, but it packs in some authentic scares. Plentiful blood-slicked scenes will please horror fans, but the eerie tone surrounding the central mystery is what works best in this supernatural thriller. (Thriller. 14-18) Kirkus"

About the Author

Chandler Baker got her start ghostwriting novels for teens and tweens before turning to her own stories. She grew up in Florida, went to college in Pennsylvania, and studied law in Texas where she now lives with her husband. Although she loves spinning tales with a touch of horror, she is a much bigger scaredy-cat than her stories would lead you to believe. You can visit her online at www.chandlerbaker.com.

The heart wants what the heart wants… By Kelly Garbato “I don’t know about my old heart, but this one is anything but gold.”“Doesn’t high school come with enough rejection that I shouldn’t need to worry about my immune system rejecting my organs, too?”Stella Cross was just fifteen years old when her life – or life as she knew it – ended. Poised on the board during a swim meet, Stella took a tumble instead of a dive. After the fainting spell, she was rushed to the hospital, subjected to a battery of tests, and handed down a diagnosis: cardiomyopathy. No matter how long she survived, Stella would never swim again.Bye bye, Stanford scholarship. Hello, Replacement Child. After two years of languishing on the transplant list, Stella finally has a second chance at life. Unfortunately, this new heart comes with its own world of hurt: it aches and throbs and cries its lament at all hours of the day and night – with the crescendo arriving every evening at 5:08 on the dot. (No word on whether the time shifts to 4:08 P.M. with the end of Daylight Savings Time.) At five-oh-eight Stella is wracked with a pain so acute that it’s temporarily crippling, and often leaves her spent and traumatized. The pain proves such a constant that sometimes she only notices it in its absence.Weirder still, there’s only one thing that seems to soothe the savage beast that is her heart: Levi Zin, the gorgeous new guy in school. Lucky for Stella – or so it would seem – Levi’s as drawn to her as she is to him (magnets!). Before she knows it, Stella’s blowing off her friends – including her best friend/potential boyfriend, the sweet and steadfast Henry – to spend all of her waking time with Levi. However, even Levi can’t stop the strange and terrifying hallucinations that have begun to haunt Stella: crimson handprints grabbing at her shirt; bloody, still-beating fetal pig hearts; classmates dying violent, untimely deaths. Murrr-derrr!With a little luck and ingenuity – not to mention some help from fellow Lunatic Outpost buff Henry – Stella must find out where her heart came from and what (or who) it wants, and fast.Freshman Fifteener Chandler Baker’s debut novel ALIVE is an almost-perfect blend of contemporary (“issues”) YA, romance, and horror. Though a little on the long side given the plot, it’s still a fun and addictive read. While I had a general idea of where the story was headed, Baker managed to keep me guessing just enough to keep things interesting. She has a real knack for voices, with dialogue that feels true and authentic.I especially appreciate how Baker deals with Stella’s ongoing illness. Thankfully, I’ve never needed an organ transplant, heart or otherwise. Yet I do know how stressful, frustrating, and even debilitating chronic conditions, both physical and mental, can be. Some readers may be quick to label Stella a brat (if even one possessed); yet I saw her behaviors as lashing out driven by pain and helplessness.Above all else, I adore Stella’s relationship with Henry: the geeking out over horror novels, reruns of THE TWILIGHT ZONE, and the Lunatic Outpost (Art Bell?) radio show. The copious Stephen King references are just icing on the cake.Levi, on the other hand? Shudder. What starts out as an intense courtship quickly escalates to stalking, obsession, and violence, in a way that mirrors real-world abusive relationships. I can only hope that Stella’s realization helps other young women to identify toxic relationships in their own lives, and seek help as needed. The denouement is pretty clever, too; I love how Baker resolved the supernatural conflict at the heart of the story (pun most definitely intended!). Sam and Dean Winchester would be proud.** I received a free electronic ARC for review through NetGalley. **

We can file Alive under TOTALLY UNEXPECTED.However, I didn’t have any expectations when heading into Alive – the premise is interesting and I have this morbid fascination with the possibility of organ transplants gone wrong. That’s not to say that is what happened, per se, but I have a wild imagination on a good day.Ella was, in short, a hard character to like. I was sympathetic to her situation, but there were times when I was just so flabbergasted by her gall and questioning her sanity at almost every turn. And that doesn’t even have to do with the hallucinations. BUT. I understood her. I could not image practically knocking on death’s door for years. After her transplant, she wants to be different, dive into life and live how she wants to. Can you blame her? She has a lot of growth to her character too, and once she starts to piece some things together, it was literally a smack in the face.. err, jolt to the heart? >.< I also loved her sense of humor. Her attraction to Levi wasn’t really.. insta-love. It was.. obsession. The added piece that he literally took her pain away just adds to the connection and I was beyond fascinated with why. However, there was an underlining creepiness about Levi that I couldn’t shake, which is the point I’m sure, and the suspense had my heart a pitter-patterin.I also adored her friends, Henry and Brynn. Henry was such a sweet, supporting best friend and it killed me to see him pushed aside. Brynn is straight forward and to the point and loved her to pieces. Also, the family dynamic is strong. Even with the comments of the little sister replacing Ella, you can tell she really did love her family. The writing is just superb. I loved the medical files, the chapter headers and I loved the paranormal twist that was thrown in. The hallucinations and nightmares were flat-out creepy and gave me goosebumps! I didn’t even know until AFTER the fact, that they were hallucinations! I was FREAKING OUT.My only small issue was the quick resolution. It’s only barely enough to satisfy my questioning mind. I also can’t figure out why View Spoiler »Alive was a such an unexpected, creepy but REALLY GOOD READ with a dark undertone. I highly recommend it!

Ryan Review : I believe that Alive is Chandler Baker’s debut novel – which is amazing and almost hard to believe, considering how good it is. The writing is fluent and the story is well developed.I admit I have some issues with the characters but that is really a matter of opinion I think. Others may not have any problems with them. It might seem that Stella is rude to her friends but I think the author wanted to point out how much she was drowning in her addiction to Levi – so I do not have any issue with that. My main problem is Levi himself. All characters were developed up to a point that you could either like or dislike them, even such small parts like Tess were described that the reader knew what to think, feel or expect. But Levi? He was a big fat blank for me. (sorry but this will not go over with a small spoiler) I get that in the beginning he was supposed to be charming and all so his real intentions were hidden but after the “outing” I expected something more of him to surface. And wow .. .I guess this was my first zombie novel (spoiler alert) – I always said I would never read one ….But in total this is a truly enjoyable read except the fact of its age recommendation being Ages 12 and up … I doubt that they can “get” those fine “references” about Stephen King and well I wonder if they even know the Twilight Zone (NO this has nothing to do with a Stephenie Meyer novel #laughing) – well but who am I to judge :- )> > > I have received this Book as an ARC from the Publisher < < > > In Exchange I promised an honest Review < < Alive, by Chandler Baker

My name is slave, and I feel like I am being reborn. Maybe the doctor was right all along about who and what I was. Each day I feel my doubts, and my will to resist him, growing smaller and smaller. I feel happy, but every day I worry that I'm losing more control than I expected, even outside the dungeon - control of my life, of my self. How can that possibly be okay? Why does part of me feel better just letting him choose? What about what I want? ...Of course, that's the problem, isn't it? These days what I really want, more than anything, is the doctor. EXCERPT I cried again, softly, slow tears dripping down my face - alone, scared, tired, and defeated. My mind drifted to what would happen to me if he really was gone. The new collar he placed on my neck only hours ago was gone. What if he decided he didn't want me anymore because I was a liar. Would my life go back to what it was before? I took a long shuddering breath and blinked away more tears. Somehow it felt impossible now to go back to what my life had been only weeks ago. I didn't want to be alone, unprotected, with no one that cared about me. I didn't want the uncertainty and fear of trying to find someone else. I didn't even want someone else, I wanted Michael. My mind played devil's advocate: If you really wanted to be his slave why are you here - alone, in the dark? ********** This BDSM and medical fetish novella series is fiction. It contains explicit descriptions of sex and sexuality, as well as medical devices and procedures. Please do not read if you may be offended by the contents. Everyone else... enjoy! ...Oh, and, please don't hurt yourself by trying this at home.

Books 1 and 2 were a joy to read, beautifully written and described. Once again, Book 3 has continued in Eden's articulate style, making the books easy to read without silly language or grammatical errors breaking the rhythm. Highly recommended, but start at Book 1 and follow Madison's progress, as I have. I am really looking forward to Book 4!

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. BITTERSWEET By F.A. 4.5 STARSIt took me awhile to pick up this book and I had to reread the entire series once again.I think everything went well in the conclusion except for that tiny bit in the end. That was just so... I'm speechless, I had to take a breather because of that bittersweet ending. It's going to take me some time in order for me to move from this series. Just saying, their love for one another was just that strong that the ending move me to tears and while there was an epilogue, well, I craved for more.Although this is the final book of the series, the journey of Alyx still wasn't easy. The sacrifices that both she and Israel had to do. In a way, I do understand but I just never expected that.Still, this ending made me ball my eyes out but I loved it anyway. There character also improved since the last time and also the other side characters. And there were parts that I still loved about them that never changed. The things we wanted to know that haven't been answered yet were revealed here. Of course, I won't spoil them. You'd have to read it.Though I'm glad to read the end of Alyx journey and I'm glad that I was able to read this series. Thank you very much Hanna Peach for giving me the opportunity to read this series. I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)

By Night Owl Reviews 5 Stars / Top PickReview by: Bookshifter of Night Owl ReviewsAngeldust is penned by one of the greatest paranormal authors, Hanna Peach. Ms. Peach brings to a close one of the best paranormal series I have read in years. This is the perfect time for you to jump on board and read the whole series now.The Dark Angel series final curtain closes with a heart throbbing conclusion. The relationships developed between the characters and the audience is explosively concluded with such a powerful, gratifying messages. The impact of these influential messages throughout Ms. Peach’s narrative creates memories which may reside within readers for a long time. I know it did that for me. Angeldust is not a stand alone book. This series must be read in sequential order to feel the energetic forces of the characters, settings, problems and solutions. The Dark Angel series is interwoven with gods, angels, demons and hijacks. The audience’s imagination and soul will be involved while reading this series. The blending of fiction, facts and supernatural energies are unforgettable. I know I will never forget the thrills and sensuous auras that radiated throughout the storyline of Angeldust as well as the Dark Angel series. Roaming through the depth of the Earth, Hell and beyond with realistic yet magical characters readers can bond with can make the tiny hairs on the readers’ spine and arms stand on end. There are many complexities that follow the main characters and supportive cast. Readers will walk with courageous, sexy and comical characters: Alyx, Israel, Jordan, Cleo, Lukas Tobias and Sparrow. These characters will warm corners of the heart. There are tales of ancient prophecies and broken promises. Readers will get rapid fire action, drama and suspense. Expect to be taken on an adventurous ride. The kick-ass heroism of both women and men will delight readers of both genders. The fierce combats hit every spectrum imaginable: physically, emotionally and spiritually taking the reader on missions beyond the depths of Heaven to Hell and everywhere in between from Egypt to Atlantis. The suspense and unpredictability of the storyline in Angeldust keeps a reader pinned to their seat. Angeldust made me appreciative of the personas of others. My favorite aspect of book five was the well-defined characters and their situations to overcome adversities. The partnerships and the manner in which the communities function kept me glued to each page as the mysteries unfolded.Angeldust’s settings, character, rising and falling actions and resolutions in my opinion were spectacular and powerfully depicted.I lost my breath multiple times by the characters the acts of love, support, perseverance, kindness and betrayal. The entwined love and devotion between Alyx and Israel gives me hope in the power of love and being with ones’ soulmate exists. Their unshakeable connection of Soulsight is a dream come true and the magical element romance readers enjoy and are drawn to while engaging in a romantic epic.Angeldust is a book that penetrates almost every fiber of the audience’s being. Angeldust is a five star conclusion to a top notched highly rated paranormal, romantic series.Well Done!! Ms. Peach the Dark Angel series, in my opinion is flawless. The entire series is awesome, well written and executed. I look forward to your next big series.Disclosure: Free review copy from the publisher/author for an honest review.

This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of this review.***Angeldust by Hanna Peach is the exciting conclusion to the Dark Angel series. Please note that if you have not read the previous books in this series that there are minor unavoidable spoilers in this review. Alyx, Israel, Jordan, and the rest of the Freethinker community is on the run. They are looking for a place to lie low after the attacks on their community and the defeat of Samyara. But the reappearance of Ana, Lukas’s wife, who has lost her memory, starts telling them about an island of warriors, Alyx knows there’s no time to lose in stopping Michael. The question is can she stop him without losing any of her friends in the process?Alyx is every bit the bada– she’s been in every book of this series. She’s cunning and witty with a warrior’s heart. Nothing will stop her in defeating Michael and protecting Israel. Even when a friend betrays her in the worse way, possibly dooming them all, Alyx doesn’t stop fighting. Truly she is the Guardian that she’s denied being throughout the series.“You are my center, my balance, my sanity. My peace. I just need to be you and me. Just for a while. Is that okay?” ~IsraelOh my dear, sweet Israel! Israel’s has a rough road throughout the series, but he finally accepts his destiny and fate in this book. He accepts that he is the keye, he accepts and embraces Tobias as his father, and above all he accepts Alyx’s love. He’s come so far as a character and it’s wonderful to see him come full circle! And my Jordan! You’re still my favorite ;) Jordan has also come full circle, but not in the way you would expect. He’s accepted Alyx and Israel’s relationship, he’s no longer the womanizer, and he’s lost a bit of his confidence. But that’s okay. He’s still Jordan! And I love his side story with Cleo, the prostitute from Purgatory.Overall, this book is it! It answers just about every question that comes up in the series and it ends leaving you sad but also content because you do get closure with this series, which I’ve been reading a lot of series enders recently and you don’t always get that. All the characters, some of the world building, it all comes to a head in the perfect way. Fair warning though have your tissues ready. This is a war and with war there’s losses and I wasn’t prepared for that at all!!! I cried my eyes out, not even going to joke about it!Personally I love the series, and while I thought this book started out a bit shaky, jumping from one POV to another quickly, it found it’s pace and I lost myself in the world of angels and war. While this book is billed as mature young adult (16+), I might go as far to say it’s new adult. There are some sexual scenes and references that I don’t think belong in young adult, but that’s my opinion. If you enjoy urban fantasy, angel mythology, and of course romance, I highly recommend it.

However I was looking for a sequel to the paperback edition (ISBN 9781632290946) that my daughter purchased at her school's Scholastic book fair, so I assumed "Book 3" was one of the sequels. Wrong! Apparently this was originally published in six separate comics/chapters, which were then compiled into three hardbacks (so this one, volume three, contains chapters 5-6), which were then compiled into the paperback she bought containing all chapters 1-6. So the book is good, but I'll be returning this volume because it duplicates what she already owns. I wish this had been clearer in the description. Also the actual cover of the book doesn't match what's in Amazon's description at the moment.

We first met Tor Maddox, a heroine for our time, in Tor Maddox: UNLEASHED. The adventure continues in this second book, Tor Maddox: EMBEDDED. Life has been way too quiet for Tor Maddox since her fifteen minutes of CNN fame. Then agent-in-training Rick Turner reappears with what sounds like a simple assignment—to embed herself as his eyes and ears in her own high school. When she agrees to keep tabs on high school state swim champ Hamilton Parker for the Feds, she is plunged into the deep end of a sinister plot. Knowing that freedom, justice, and lives are at stake again, Tor jumps in feet first, but has she gotten in over her head this time? When observe and report becomes kiss and tell, Tor's first mission may blow up in her face.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Ripped From Today's Headlines By D A Bale We're back at it with Tor in this second installment. Along with turning sixteen comes that coveted little piece of plastic that screams FREEDOM like William Wallace never could. You remember, don't you?A driver's license! But Tor's first outing behind the wheel without her parents ends in a multiple mishap she could never have foreseen - and brings hunky college boy and junior government agent, Rick Turner, striding back into her life to save her road privileges. This time, he needs her sharp-thinking skills to assist him.Oh boy, oh boy - Tor's first, real, live, government agent-type assignment. To get close to a fellow student in her high school.Boring! But hey, this is Tor Maddox we're talking about. The girl who thinks on her feet (and in her size eight pointe shoes). The girl who finds trouble where none could possibly be found. The girl who can't help but get everyone around her in trouble when they try to help, much to her parents' chagrin.Tor's second adventure involves an issue straight off of the news screens - illegal immigration. No matter which side of the fence you're on, this is not an issue with a straight black or white answer. I have friends that immigrated here and spent years and thousands of dollars to do it in the legal manner. Then I know several people who were brought here by their parents when they were young and had no say in the matter, living life along the periphery with children now of their own - and living in fear of what will happen to their legal children if they are discovered as being here illegally. But then terrorists are known to use illegal immigration routes and team with coyotes, whose interests end with the money, to infiltrate the U.S. in order to wreak havoc. It can be an emotionally charged issue, one Tor finds herself facing when the grandfather of her dancing nemesis is shipped back to Mexico and in Tor's pursuits, finds herself crawling through a tunnel underneath the border. The story is again exciting and we get to see more of the interactions of high school life without it becoming too much of an angst-ridden hormonal mess. Tor inserts herself into the lives of the swim team, specifically Hamilton, in order to discover what it is Hamilton's dad has in play concerning what's happening across the border. In the process, her best friend Sasha's dance legs are ripped out from beneath him - quite literally - and he ends up spending most of this book in the hospital, which was a disappointment for me because he provided some necessary breaths of humor in book one. Tor's brother, Rody, continues to show how capable he is in trying to keep his sister out of trouble while doing a lot of CYA for her with the parents. And sparks continue to fly between Tor and Rick - which is a little difficult for me at times since he's twenty-one and she's barely sixteen. At least this problem is addressed and dealt with early on in the book, though the connection these two have made the ending rather nice. Just when you thought it was over, surprise!Plotting and pacing are again handled well. We follow along with Tor during her adventures, keeping the story moving along in showing mode instead of resorting to telling, which can be difficult to do in first person narration. There's a little more teen angst here than in the first one, but the more mature subject matter of dealing with illegal immigration kept it from devolving into fluff. I did find the characters of Hamilton and his dad to be a little extreme, falling into the caricature of bigoted redneck as very one-dimensional. Maybe I just haven't been exposed to such an extreme in real life, but it felt to me a bit overwrought with no balance or redeeming qualities. Only one or two minor editing errors revealed in this one.Content Warning: There are a few more and varied cuss words in this second outing, but probably much less than anything teens already hear in school. There's the whole lying to parents thing and using one's siblings and friends for CYA that rubs me a little the wrong way - then again, I'm a parent. :-) A potential relationship between a twenty-something and teenager is probably many girls' dreams, but it isn't gratuitous.Overall, another smart read for teens and adults. I give this one four stars.I was provided with a free copy of this novel in exchange for review and was not financially compensated for my opinion.

Horder Tor Maddox goes international with her next adventure, which has an added bonus for her: she even gets paid $500.00 per week! After appearing in court to save Tor and her driver's license, Rick (her "shining knight"), introduces Tor and her parents to the job. He describes it as an undercover watch at her school, which would have "no travel or danger involved." All Tor has to do is get to know a fellow student, who is the swimming and diving star!!With a little help from her friend, Sasha, she DOES get to meet him. He likes Tor, invites her to travel to Mexico with him and his Dad, and then a dangerous horseback ride on the beach leads Tor to the understanding and knowledge of this "job."Tor, being a teenager with a passion for justice, fights to correct a situation that is a very controversial topic of today. As she communicates with some Mexicans, she teaches us generosity and compassion. As a reader, I admire the absolute genuine response of Tor to the situation and her courage. I really liked how Liz Coley brought back the consistent friendship of Sasha and her brother's bond. And I am looking forward to Tor's next attempt at solving a current issue!

This was a serious page-turner. It had everything I love in a YA novel – a quick pace, characters I can relate to, and romance. Lots and lots of romance. This time Tor finds herself on an assignment that involves getting up close and personal with drop-dead gorgeous senior Hamilton Parker. Not to worry, though; Special Agent Rick still makes lots of appearances, being the all-around good guy (who just happens to be dreamy) that we got to know in UNLEASHED.I loved watching Tor navigate her way through a tangle of complex situations. She had to deal with everything from ballet auditions to exposing diabolical plots driven by racial discrimination. And of course, there was everybody’s favorite male ballerina: Sasha. Sweet, forgiving Sasha who Coley decides to really rough up this time around!EMBEDDED was another great read and I’m looking forward to Tor’s next adventure!
