Everyone has good memories of their growing up, and mine was a wonderful one of my childhood in the era of the old tenements buildings in the Gorbals and Oatlands area in the south side of Glasgow. Every day for us was like an adventure with so many things to do and our street games could last all day long (especially in the school summer holidays). There were no computers, video games and mobile phones etc in those days and Tv was only in its infancy, so all our energy was spent playing out in the open. In my book I try to tell our story of what life was like in that era through my poems, peoples stories and songs we sang in the streets. All this, I hope, brings back happy memories to people of my generation who lived through these times, and a future generation that I want to leave my memories with.

A whole chapter just to say, Parker liked to dress in women's clothes because he preferred how he looked in them. If the chapter had delved into Parker's actual thought process while dressing, that would have been intriguing. But it really didn't happen. Then there's the obligatory 'oh yeah he uses a dildo on himself when dressed'. Which kind of kills any future self discovery about sexuality.The setup for the party begins nicely but then goes off the rails when Parker gets picked up in mere minutes, then within a page is happily watching another couple having sex and chatting about it with the "mysterious stranger." Then the entire plot is given away in a single sentence. The book becomes just another empty guy magically transforms into a bimbo story.

There are over 35 recipes in here to change up your tea. I am really excited to try the Lavender Lemon Iced Tea. These recipes call for "real" ingredients like Sprigs of fresh Mint, honey, dried lavender, and real fruit so they are healthy as well. These tea recipes would make a great alternative to drinking sodas or store bought drinks.

With recipes of oils and eatables such as Chocolates and whatnot. But this has simple things like mix ground marijuana with flour, or butter, or olive oil, and then use those concoctions in normal recipes. Things that just sound disgusting if mixed with "marijuana butter". Very disappointed.

By Ken David Hambling brings back former boxer Harry Stubbs in a follow-up to his Lovecraftian "The Elder Ice".Harry is unemployed and willing to take on just about anything to make the ends meet. When asked to show around a mysterious visitor from China, Harry tackles the task and finds himself in the middle of a centuries old quarrel between rival Chinese clans....and possibly something millennia older.In "Broken Meats", Hambling calls upon spiritualism and the occult elite of the late 19th and early 20th century to deliver a quickly-read and engaging tale.

Author David Hambling has created a strong and enjoyable character in Harry Stubbs. Mysteries from China mixed with the Lovecraftian menace that is so perfectly done in the Harry Stubbs series. A bruiser with a heart forced to deal with the horrors hidden in the shadows. Everything about this book was Fun!

Another Excellent Account from the Unflappable Mr. Stubbs By Randy Stafford Between jobs after the events of The Elder Ice, ex-boxer and bill collector Harry Stubbs, our narrator, finds himself conducting Mr. Yang about the Norwood neighborhood of South London. It's a favor to his old friend and sometime patron Arthur Renville -- the "Consignment Man" who makes his money disposing of items reported as lost to insurance companies. Arthur wants to know the real reason Yang, member of the sinister Si Fan triad, has come to England in 1925.East meets West in an adventure that brings in Theosophy, real life occultist Robert D'Onston Stephenson, Chinese politics, and a walking corpse. H. P. Lovecraft fans will come to attention when we hear about the local Whatley family and the notion that you can reconstitute the dead from their ashes.I liked the continuing hat tips Harry gives to his literary models and his asides on the art of boxing. Unflappable, a bit naïve at times, Harry keeps on growing as a man, and I certainly look forward to his next adventure.

About the Author Kimberly Bryant-Palmer never dreamed of becoming a writer, but always loved reading her favorite authors being James Michener, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Harper Lee. Kimberly received her Bachelor of Arts degree in both music and biology from Mary Washington College (now The University of Mary Washington). While in graduate school, studying music theory, she worked a short time in cancer research before going on to write and record a CD, Just Enough. But it was when she met an artist named Jerry Palmer, and wrote the introduction for a book idea he had carried in his head for 25 years, that she found what she truly loved to do. Mr. Zip and The Capital Z, a story of restoration and hope, tells of a young, dark-skinned American boy, Peanut Johnson, who has just endured a terrifically hard and terribly disappointing day. In this tale, Kimberly explores matters of the heart while taking her readers on a magical journey through history. He learns not only lessons in history, but also some wonderful life lessons. You are drawn into the story with Peanut as he curiosity takes him on a tour that changes his outlook by the end. He learns to trust Mr. Zip, who becomes his guide, as he experiences the story told with sensitivity and excitement. The illustrations are fantastic and so well matched with the story. I am looking forward to the next book that Kimberly Bryant-Palmer writes and Jerry Palmer illustrates! I would recommend this book to any teacher as a supplement to literature and history and as a resource rich with content and engaging for young readers.-Cheryl Nelson

By Ditzydotts Mr. Zip and the Capital Z is such a fun story that kids won't even notice that they're learning lessons from American history! This story follows Peanut Johnson through the disappointment of a very bad day, to the adventures awaiting him in the most interesting of shops, as guided by the most interesting of shopkeepers. Your young readers/listeners will be as surprised and delighted as Peanut himself to discover the "magic" of the shop, and may learn a few life lessons along the way. Beautifully illustrated, and historically and biblically accurate, this book is sure to become one of your child's favorites.

Mr. Zip and the Capital Z is packed full of painless history lessons, and before you know it, you are drawn into Mr. Zip's world. The footnotes are an added bonus as I have learned to take most history books with an attitude of, "how do they know that?" The illustrations are so detailed and I guess my favorite one was of the inside of the shop. They truly put a face to a name! I am very much looking forward to future adventures in The Capital Z!
